Also called Grey-headed Coneflower, which presumably refers more to the middle disk than the yellow petals.

Features: Interesting pinnate leaves (which give its species name) and a prolonged blooming period. Cone-shaped flowers wave gracefully in the wind, and many pollinators visit. Seeds eaten by birds. Host plant to Silvery Checkerspot and a couple of moths. Adds to winter interest.

Light: Full Sun to Part Shade

Soil: Medium to Dry

Height: 3-4 feet (height while in bloom)

Blooms: July-September
