Wild Gooseberry -- Ribes missouriense
Features: This is an interesting shrub with many appealing qualities, including unique drooping white flowers in spring. It grows well in dry or moist shade under trees and has delicious fruit for humans and wildlife in July. Leaves are red/orange in fall but in full sun the leaves turn deep purple. Do be aware that its older branches develop many short straight thorns.
