Wild Ones West Cook
Spicebush - Lindera benzoin
Spicebush - Lindera benzoin
Out of stock
Note: This is the smaller 1 gal size, and so a lower price, but still a decent sized plant.
Features: Good for wildlife. This is the host plant for the Spicebush Swallowtail butterfly, with fruit that’s eaten by woodland songbirds and was used as a spice by the pioneers.
Please note: This plant comes in male and female versions and they are too young for the nursery to tell apart, so it's safer to plant several if you want fruit, which the females make. Either sex will work fine as a caterpillar host plant.
