Features: Smooth Phlox blooms in clusters of 3-20 pink or lavender flowers atop a stem of narrow leaved foliage. The fragrant flowers can bloom for 1-2 months beginning in late spring into summer. Plants grow in full sun or light shade in moist or even wet loam or sandy loam. Found naturally in moist prairies and moist open woodlands, plants may require staking or support of other plants to stay upright.
Smooth Phlox flowers provide nectar for butterflies, skippers and moths. The plant also attracts bees, wasps, flies and hummingbirds. Rabbits and deer may dine on this tasty plant.
Light: Full sun to light shade
Soil: Moist fertile loam or sandy loam
Height: Up to 2.5 feet
Blooms: June, July, August, September
