Shade Garden Kit
This is a kit of 10 plants that can give you an easy way to add wildlife-welcoming natives to a shady spot in your existing or new garden. You can supplement a kit with other shade plants as well.

--2 Wild Columbine whose attractive red and yellow flowers attract hummingbirds, butterflies and moths in the early summer.
--2 Wild Ginger plants, which act as a low-growing ground cover, with unique reddish brown flowers pollinated by ants.
--2 Common Oak (Pen) Sedge, a delightful light green spring-flowering short grass-like plant that will spread slowly.
--2 Wild Geranium, a spring-blooming, pink-flowered beautiful true Geranium.

Plant ASAP in a spot that is mostly shade or at least not full sun. Water them every few days for the first month, or as needed to keep fairly most, depending on precipitation and other weather conditions.
Transplants need care for the first growing season. Mulch and regular weeding are also required until plants fill in. Visit westcook.wildones.org for more information on our Wildlife Corridor project.
