Also called Red Osier Dogwood.
Features: Native Americans ate the berries of this shrub to treat colds and slow bleeding. Bees, butterflies, moths, beetles, and birds are attracted to its fragrant flowers and berries, while rabbits munch on its leaves and stems. In winter months, the stems of the shrub turn bright red, creating a nice contrast with surrounding snow. May need protection from deer and supplemental watering.
