Wild Ones West Cook
Red Baneberry - Actaea rubra
Red Baneberry - Actaea rubra
Out of stock
When these are sold out, no more will be available from the grower, sorry. The grower reports that it is possible that there may be germination issues with this, though we hope not. We will update when we can.
This plant will be in a 4" pint container.
Features: This pretty woodland plant provides interest for much of the year. In spring, red baneberry blooms with clusters of fluffy, white flowers. In the summer, the red berries develop from the spent flowers.
Flowers offer pollen to bees, beetles and flies, but have no nectar. Robins and thrushes eat the berries and are immune to their poison. Chipmunks and red squirrels will eat the seeds. The toxic foliage is resistant to deer and rabbit browsing.
All parts of Red Baneberry (even the berries) are poisonous to humans
