Features: The abundant pinkish-purple flower stems will stay where you rotate them, giving the native perennial its nickname of “obedient plant.” In favorable conditions, this plant can be somewhat aggressive, although the shallow roots make it easy to “edit” and control.
While it prefers moist soil it can tolerate both drought and poor drainage. Bumblebees and hummingbirds are very attracted to this ornamental member of the mint family, while our mammal friends find them distinctly unattractive.
Light: Full sun to Partial shade
Soil: Moist to Medium Moist
Height: 2-4 feet
Blooms: August to November
