Features: One of the most interesting sedges because of the wonderful seed heads, which resemble tiny mace-clubs. The leaves serve as host plants for a couple of butterflies (Eyed Brown, Appalachian Brown wetland/woodland species) and a couple of moth species. The seeds feed birds.

Light: Adaptable--if in full sun, ensure constant soil moisture; prefers part-shade

Soil: Medium-Wet (standing water okay for short periods)

Height: 2 ft

Blooms: May-August
