Common Witch Hazel - Hamamelis virginiana

Note: This is the smaller 1 gal size, but costs more than some because they are very slow growing and somewhat rare.

Features: The last woody plant to bloom in the fall, Witch Hazel has yellow flowers that provide tasty nectar and pollen for bees and other pollinators.  This woodland understory shrub has lovely fall color and is a favored nesting site for Indigo Buntings.

Light: Light shade.

Soil: Moist to Medium

Height: 10-15 feet

Blooms: Mid to late fall for 3 weeks
