Blackhaw Viburnum - Viburnum prunifolium

Note: This is the smaller 1 gal size, and so a lower price. Also note that it may require extra care and pruning if the Viburnum Leaf Beetles find it. No more of these are available once sold out.

Features: This large shrub or small tree has lovely clusters of pleasantly fragrant white blooms in Spring. They transform into clusters of black berries with seeds, a tasty treat for birds. The small sweet berries are tasty to humans too though the flesh around their one seed is rather thin. This shrub attracts an amazing variety of pollinators!

Its species name reflects how its finely serrated leaves resemble those of the Prunus genus, such as cherries and plums.

Height: 8 to 15 ft.
