Features: With tall, long lasting white-blooming spires, Black Cohosh is a striking addition to the back of your woodland garden. The blooms are slightly smelly, but provide nectar and pollen and attract bees, flies, and butterflies. The bushy foliage is medium green with multiple leaflets on each stem and will spread slowly by rhizomes. This plant prefers rich loamy soil with organic matter such as a woodland, but adapts well to shade gardens.
Light: Part to full shade
Soil: Medium to Medium-wet
Height: 3-7 feet
Blooms: Late Spring and Summer
