Oak Park Residents get 50% off native trees!

As part of its Urban Forestry and Climate Plans, The Village of Oak Park (VOP) has generously provided funding to encourage residents to buy a native tree (or two!) to plant on their private property.

Oak Park's parkways are nearly full and planting trees on private property will increase the village's tree canopy. Trees improve air quality, absorb stormwater, sequester carbon, shade homes to reduce A/C use, provide food and habitat for pollinators and other wildlife, as well as enhancing human mood and well-being.

Trees can be planted by homeowners, the owners of rental properties, schools, congregations, businesses and other organizations, as long as the property is in Oak Park.

Please note the features of the tree, especially mature size, and avoid planting near power lines or too close to buildings! Check out this U of I Extension Guide for some tips.

Apply discount code OPTREES in cart during checkout for the 50% discount off list price. See detailed instructions below. There is a shopify limit of 1 tree per customer, but the Village will allow up to 2 for a property/household/business, in separate orders, with different emails. Contact us with questions.

• The code is used is on the checkout page, after you click 'Checkout' on the Cart page.
• Enter OPTREES in the box labeled Discount Code under the list of plants on the Checkout page. It is not case sensitive.

Discount applies only to trees, not shrubs. There is a limit because we are trying to support as many residents as possible. Thanks!
