Purple Prairie Clover - Dalea purpurea

Also known as Petalostemum purpureum.

Features: This long-blooming prairie plant is a legume so it adds nitrogen to the soil. Its attractive purple flowers provide nectar for many kinds of bees and butterflies and its tasty, high-protein foliage may be eaten by mammals.
